Trees are essential for life on our planet. They provide shelter habitat for wildlife and give life saving medicines for man. Trees are an integral part of the earth's eco system even helping our soil to remain healthy by reducing soil erosion and providing a soil climate conducive for micro-organisms to flourish   Trees replenish our oxygen and reduce CO2 levels filter our air pollution and help cool our cities, villages and homes.        Amazingly a large tree can take up 100 gallons of water from the ground and then discharge it into the air in matter of a day. The vegetation from the tree reduces water runoff and absorbs and filters the rainwater improving the waters quality. Trees take carbon dioxide from the atmosphere during photosynthesis and use it in plant structure and return oxygen as a by product back into the atmosphere. One large tree can provide oxygen for four people for one day. Trees store carbon as cellulose in their trunk, branches leaves, and roots. An acre of trees absorbs enough CO2 in one year to equal the amount produced by a car driving 26,000 miles. This makes trees one of the most efficient tools in fighting the greenhouse effect.                 While a tree grows the carbon dioxide is locked away inside it for sometimes hundreds of years. Fast growing tree species store carbon quickly and much longer than crops or tropical trees.        The more trees planted all over our planet the more balanced our eco system will be and all living organisms will benefit.  Trees provide us with hundreds of food products such as coffee, apples, oranges, and cherries. Trees can be used as an effective barrier against noise from highways etc. Trees provide raw material for over 5,000 man made products.
According to the USDA Forest Service, “Trees properly placed around buildings can reduce air conditioning needs by 30% and save 20-50% in energy used for heating.”
